Wait, You Know What You're Doing?

After spending nearly every single day of the last 10 months working to complete my manuscript, researching, writing, editing, having it edited by beta readers, editing, and editing some more - I’m finally ready for the fun part.

Agents! Agents! Calling all agents!

Oh, you have a great manuscript and a website? How cute. How about social media? How many followers? Wait, what? Don’t tell me you spent all your time writing when you should have been playing on your cellphone. HA! Good Luck! Hope you’re a marketing whiz!

Okay. Ok. K. Dear doubting voices in my head, please shut up!

I admit the last part is my fault. I dropped the ball on social media. I didn’t know! My bad. Rookie mistake.

Part of the reason for this blog is to show a real-life look at what it’s like to be a writer. The glory, the guts, and the get the heck out of here - I was supposed to do what?!

Oh well, there’s nothing to be done about it now except try and play catch-up. Thus, the next few posts will cover my journey to quickly find new followers.

Crap! And (I almost forgot) find an agent! Anyone seen one of those lying around anywhere?

I feel better just admitting that I screwed up. The voices in my head have forgiven me, too. Right now they’re singing that old country song, “Don’t worry ‘bout what you don’t know, life’s a dance you learn as you go.”
